“all groan up now”–an excerpt from It All Melts Down to This: a novel-in-timelines by Ben Miller, inspired by the drawings of Dale Williams
Ben Miller’s prose has appeared in Best American Essays, AGNI, Kenyon Review, Yale Review, New England Review, and elsewhere. He is the author of the nonfiction work River Bend Chronicle (Lookout Books) and the recipient of creative writing fellowships from the NEA and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University.
Artist Dale Williams has exhibited his work in the New York City area for the past 25 years. His last one-person show, “Cage Dies Bird Flies – 81 paintings,” which presented works from an ongoing collaborative project with writer Ben Miller, was held in March 2015 at Vanderbilt Republic’s Gowanus Loft in Brooklyn, NY. He will present a second solo exhibition at Gowanus Loft in April 2016. His work has appeared in many journals in print and online, including BOMB, Ecotone, Superstition Review, and tNY Press. He is a 2014 fellow in Printmaking/Drawing/Book Arts from the New York Foundation for the Arts. His work is represented by Vanderbilt Republic. http://www.dalewilliamsart.com
